H S Prannoy finally beat Kento Momota 21-17,21-16 in the second round of World Championships in Tokyo on Tuesday.Indian had lost to former world no.1 Memota in his past seven matches.Kidambi Srikanth exited in the second round.Prannoy will face Lakshya Sen in an all Indian round of 16 clash.M R Arjun and Dhruv Kapila advanced in men’s doubles.However women’s doubles pair of Ashwini Ponnappa and N Sikki Reddy bowed out to top seeds.Satwik and Chirag went through in straight games of men’s doubles.

Indian weightlifters Jetemy Lalrinunga and Achinta Sheuli will fight for one spot in 73kg at Paris Olympics in 2024.67kg doesn’t feature in weightlifting at next Olympics.
