There were mixed results for India on day 13 at Tokyo Olympics.Indian men’s hockey team created history by winning bronze medal at Tokyo Olympics.Aditi Ashok stayed in contention for a medal. However there was disappointment for our wrestlers.

The day started with good news on hockey as India beat Germany 5-4 in a tense game to claim bronze medal. It has been 41 year wait for India and finally Indian players had something to be proud of.At one stage,India were down 1-3 but came back strongly with 4 goals scored.Germany were pressing hard for equaliser. But Indian defence particularly goalkeeper P R Sreejesh held firm and denied opponents to make a comeback.

All eyes were on Ravi Dahiya in 57kg Wrestling. But sadly,Indian went down to second seed Russian Uguev 4-7 in the final. However Ravi fought back till the end.He became only second Indian wrestler to win silver after Sushil Kumar at Olympics.Anothet medal hope Deepak Punia lost to 3rd seed Amine of San Marino 4-2.Among women,26 year old and strong medal contender-Vinesh Phogat lost in quarterfinals to Kaladzinskaya by fall.Unfortunayely, she could not make it to repeage also.

Indian female golf star Aditi Ashok kept her medal hopes alive as she ended round two at tied 2nd with 4 strokes behind leader Korda.

India’s medal tally at Tokyo Olympics reads 2 silver and 3 bronze medals with 3 days of competition still left.We can still hope for surpassing London Games haul of 6 medals as the likes of Bajrang Punia and Neeraj Chopra are the ones India are backing to finish on a high.
