Day 12 of Tokyo Olympics bring more cheer for India

It turned out to be the most successful day for Indian athletes at Tokyo Olympics on day 12 of the competition.Ravi Dahiya assured silver medal for India in 57kg Wrestling while Neeraj Chopra qualified for javelin throw final with his first attempt.Let’s look at Indian athletes’ all results on Wednesday.


Ravi Dahiya made history when he reached 57kg freestyle final after come from behind win against Sanayev.It was a thrilling bout as in the final minute,Ravi showed tremendous grit and fighting skills to reduce the deficit from 9-2 to 9-7.Leg injury to Kazakh wrestler also turned the bout in Indian’s favour.Ravi went through the tense bout by fall.Another 57kg wrestler,Deepak Punia reached the semifinals before losing to second seed D M Taylor by slip.Anshu Malik will play in repeage round after her loss to Kurachikina in the last 16 clash.


Indian medal prospect in javelin throw-Neeraj Chopra qualifief for final with his first attempt of 86.65m.Final consisting top 12 throwers will take place on Saturday.


Indian female pugilist Lovlina Borgohain settled for bronze medal in women’s welterweight category after she was beaten by world no.3 Surmeneil 5-0.Lovlina became only the second female boxer to win a medal for India.


Aditi Ashok kept Indian hopes alive in golf after she finished tied 2nd after the first round.Aditi is 4 under and one stroke behind leader Sagstrom.


Indian women’s hockey team went down 1-2 to world no.2 Argentina in the semifinals.India will compete for a bronze medal against Great Britain on Friday.
