All finals Special Sunday -Highlights

It was a weekend full of drama,ecstasy,joy,controversies and much more.There were 3 big finals took place in football and tennis.In football,Copa America final took place in Rio on Saturday night while Euro 2020 final was held at Wembley,in England.Wimbledon men’s singles final also completed at All England Club.Here is brief look at how these finals unfolded.


First for Argentina in 28 years.

Lionnel Messi finally earned silverware with national team as Argentina beat Brazil 1-0 to lift Copa America title.Angel Di Maria’s first half goal was enough to seal the deal.Argentina  finished the night with six shots out of which two were on target.Brazil had 13 shots but only two on target.As the final hooter went,every player from Argentina sprinted to Messi who was down on his knees in disbelief.It was first trophy for Argentina since 1993 while for Messi,it was a night he will remember for ever.

Unbeaten run continues for Azurri

Euro 2020 final between Italy and England was a thrilling climax.Both teams ended 1-1 after extra time.In the following penalty shootout,Gianluigi was the hero for Italy as he made two saves.Italy won the title after 3-2 win.It was heartbreak for England as they failed to lift the trophy on home soil.Moreover,Three Lions are yet to win a major title after 1966.For Italy,it was second European Championship after they won in 1968.Azurri are still unbeaten in past 34 games and their dominance over England in major competitions continues.


History for Djoker

World no.1 Novak Djokovic won his 20th Grand Slam title after he won his sixth Wimbledon title on Sunday.Djokovic beat Italian Matteo Berrettini 6-7,6-4,6-4,6-3 in the final.Berretini came back from 5-2 down in the opening set to win the set in tiebreaker.In the second set,Serbian broke early.From then on Djokovic was in full control and won the title.Victory tied him level with Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal with most Grand Slam titles (20).Nole has realistic chance to complete Golden Slam this year as he will try to win Olympics and US Open later this year.If he does so,he will become the first male player to achieve the feat.
