Mumbai, June 11:Ultimate Table Tennis and Chennaiyin Football Club co-owner Vita Dani and Go Sports Foundation’s director Deepthi Bopaiah will headline Sports For All’s special webinar on Friday on challenges faced by top women entrepreneurs and female athletes in Indian sport.
Aptly titled She Is Gold, the series is part of SFA’s continuing effort to promote sport at the grassroots level even during the Covid-19 induced lockdown, keeping the country’s ultimate goal of becoming a sports power in the near future alive.
“We began the Sports For All movement five years ago to create a platform for budding talent at the school level and have been overwhelmed by the response in Mumbai and Hyderabad,” Rishikesh Joshi, founder of SFA and the moderator of this webinar, pointed out.
“We have introduced this multi-part series to dwell on various aspects that are weighing down on Indian sport. We hope to educate youngsters and even parents so that more and more kids take up sport as a full-time career,” he added.
The power-packed panel for the webinar on women includes Corvuss American Academy’s Deeksha Kumar, AM Sports Law’s Aahna Mehrotra and Women In Sport’s Vaidehi Vaidya, and each will talk about her own journey in a male-dominated world. They will also address a number of issues that a young female athlete has to overcome to become a successful sportsperson.
