Less than 24 hours after her return from Delhi where she won 3 Gold Medals at the SGFI School Nationals showcasing her immense talent with some remarkably fast record breaking swims, Kiara Bangera the star swimmer from GAF was back in action at the RYP Swim Meet 2019 at the CSMSS’ Prabodhankar Thackeray Krida Sankul’s beautiful 50 mtrs Swimming Pool. Incidentally, Kiara started her glittering swimming career at this very pool. She demolished the field in her age category to win all 5 events in which she participated. The two day Meet had events for the higher age categories on the opening day and for lower age groups on the second day. She deservingly was declared Individual Champion in the under 15 category. Rudransh Mishra (MLWB), who swam brilliantly at the Inter Varsity Meet recently to fetch the Gold Medal in the 100 Free there, was dominant in the under 25 years category where he was challenged by another worthy talent Heer Shah (MSP). Rudransh emerged Individual Champion in this age category. The other Winners of Individual Championships on the opening day in their respective age categories were Indira Doraivel (CSMSS), Devanshi Desai (GAF), Aditya Shah (Forest Club), Prithvi Poojary (CSMSS) for their excellent all round brilliance.

Annika Roy (GAF) and Anusha Gaonkar (CSMSS) did the star turn on the concluding with an awesome all win record in their respective age categories. Both Annika and Anusha stamped their authority with some brilliant swims to quell the competition in their respective age groups. Not only did they emerge triumphant in all the events that they participated but they also posted some smart times in the process showcasing their excellence in all four strokes.

The other champion performers who emerged best in their respective age groups displaying immense talent while beating back the challenge posed by their worthy competitors were Shwet Poojari (Forest Club), Shray Bhalla (Ozone Swimming Pool), Pratyaksh Vir Parmar (CSMSS), and Anannya Nayak (Ozone). It was heartwarming to see a host of National Medallists grace the Meet with their participation in this Meet which is growing in stature and popularity. This is the third edition. A top class Diving Competition is scheduled to be held during the coming weekend. Today, this hugely popular Multi Sports Carnival which is being held to celebrate and commemorate the memory of Dr Ramesh Prabhoo, the affable and dynamic founder of CSMSS/PTKS and Renaissance Man of Vile Parle East, celebrated inclusivity by organizing a Swim Meet for differently abled (Para & Special category) swimmers, where some of India’s top para, visually impaired and Special Swimmers from Mumbai and Thane were expected to participate.

A word of praise and pat on the back is due for Coach Sandeep Newalkar and his band of absolutely dedicated young Coaches, Parents and Volunteers who worked untiringly to ensure the top class conduct of the Meet. Lending a helping hand were Officials from GMAAA who as always did a superb job. Heartfelt gratitude to swim parent and IT professional Satish Desai who did a splendid job with his team of passionate and extremely competent IT Professionals who hold Senior positions in their respective work places, by providing top class IT support for managing the Meet extremely efficiently and without any glitches. Arvind Prabhoo who has assumed the responsibility of nurturing his late father’s legacy wore a contented demeanour looking at the overwhelming response and smooth conduct. Arvind who drives the CSMSS is a man on a mission. He is doing a remarkable job of making the CSMSS/ PTKS a most sought after multi sports facility which is wedded to excellence and is committed to creating and nurturing international class sports persons.
