Anjum Moudgil and Mehuli Ghosh continued their golden run in the women’s air rifle events at the 62nd National Shooting Championship in Trivandrum on Tuesday.
Anjum won her third gold partnering Arjun Babuta to help Punjab win the 10m air rifle, mixed team event. The Punjab pair was too good in the finals, outclassing the field with a score of 49.73.
West Bengal’s Mehuli won her fifth and sixth gold medals in the competition by annexing the junior and youth mixed team titles to go with her women’s junior and youth individual and team golds won earlier.
Mehuli partnered Abhinav Shaw, both in the junior and youth mixed team events, to strike gold with 498.2 scores in the Junior final. In the youth final, they went even better with a score of 498.8.
TOP RANK SIGNS VIJENDER SINGH
India’s professional boxer Vijender Singh had signed a multi-year agreement with Top Rank, Hall of Fame promoter Bob Arum announced on Tuesday.
The 2008 Olympic bronze medallist, and current unbeaten super middleweight Vijender, who has fought all but one of his professional bouts in India and England, will make his debut under the Top Rank banner in early 2019, according to a statement.
ACROBATIC GYMNASTS BAG 2 BRONZE MEDALS
Indian gymnasts won two bronze medals in the men’s and women’s group events of the FIG Acrobatic Gymnastics World Cup in Baku.
Prins Aris, Siddhhesh Bhosle, Rushikesh More, and Rejilesh Suribabu finished third after scoring 20.560 in the two-day event to bag the bronze medal.
The Indian women’s trio of Ayushi Ghodeswar, Prachi Parkhi, and Mrunmayi Walde also bagged a bronze in the group after scoring 18.200.
