Vijay Hazare: Jharkhand and Haryana Enter QF

Haryana and Jharkhand have qualified for the quarterfinals of the Vijay Hazare one-day tournament form Group C. Haryana beat Tamil Nadu by 77 runs on Tuesday to progress with 28 points in nine games. Jharkhand, who have a match in hand, also have 28 points. Haryana who looked in a spot of bother at 159/5 in the 35th over made a stunning turnaround through an unbroken partnership of 151 runs between Himanshu Rana (89 not out) and Rahu Tewatia (91 not out in 92 balls ). Chasing Haryana’s 310, Tamil Nadu could only manage 233 for ninein 50 overs. TN skipper Vijay Shankar (44) and B. Anirudh Sitaram (33) showed some resistance. Tamil Nadu’s campaign ended with five wins and four defeats, securing 20 points.
