Jamnabai Narsee School bags two team gold medals

Jamnabai Narsee School dominated the team events of the 11SPORTS Inter-School Table Tennis Championship as Dev Shroff starred in the junior boys’ team final while Mihika Rohira and Vidhi Shah stole the limelight in the junior girls’ team section with their exceptional performances at the University Sports Pavilion at Marine Lines.

Jamnabai Narsee School started off their gold rush as the Junior Girls’ team beat Upatal Sanghvi Global School with a comprehensive scoreline of 3-0. Mihika Rohira got them off on the right foot with an 11-8, 11-2, 11-7 win over Ria. Next up, Vidhi Shah also didn’t break a sweat as she defeated Hiya with an identical 3-0 win. The Narsee girls’ having registered individual wins, combined together to get past their opponents with another 3-0 win and bagged the gold.
In the Junior boys’ team category, national champion in the sub-junior category Maanav Mehta registered an emphatic 3-0 victory over Dinesh Patil of Jindal Vidya Mandir School. Dev Shroff continued their winning streak with a similar win against Dinesh Patil to put them in the driving seat. Maanav and Dev then combined in their doubles clash to seal the tie and took the first spot on the podium.

In the sub-junior boys’ team category, Father Agnel School toiled it out against The cathedral and John Cannon School to register a 3-1 win. After winning the first two singles clash, the Father Agnel’s doubles pair went 1-3 but bounced back in the next singles clash to seal it in their favor.
In the sub-junior girls’ team event, Poorna Prajna got the better of Utpal Sanghvi School in a grueling encounter which ended in the former’s favor; 3-1. Hardee Patel’s wins in both her singles games helped Poorna Prajna put it past their opponents and clinched the gold.
