Manisha and Ankit Katana advanced to the semifinals to assure themselves of medals at the ongoing world youth boxing championships in Budapest on Monday.
Manisha fetched a split verdict over Slovakia’s Miroslava Jedinakova in her quarterfinal bout to enter the last-four stage of the light welterweight 64kg category.
Ankit made the semifinals at the event after he prevailed 5-0 over Denmark’s Nikolai Terteeryan in the lightweight 60kg category quarterfinals late on Sunday night.
Ankit will square off against Thailand’s Amichai Phoemsap in the semifinals. Phoemsap got the betteer of Japan’s Ryunosuke Tsutsumi in his quarterfinal bout.
Manisha, on the other hand, will be up against Hungary’s Veronika Villas on Tuesday.
