Oh you Football ! P lease keep coming again and again to save Kingdom of Cricket from drowning.

“Dad let’s try this new Restaurant today”  my son always keeps on searching Google for ‘something differently interesting’ for eating out every week end. I find this new generation style of thriving for bigger pocket holes creating searches on internet efficiently and smartly quite appreciable.

It’s undeniable truth that every activity in our growingly rigid life, whether watching a TV serial or a entertainment intended typical comedy film or a daily walk in flowerless gardens of Mumbai , fall in law of diminishing utility rule of economics category, I am afraid.

So what? We do it again and again. The fast losing it’s charm daily activity, gets slowly embedded in our genes and becomes the ‘Green Card’ holder of our DNA.

Diminishing margin utility law (the only rule of economics which I could grasp on my own and retain forever though could not help me scoring more than thirty five marks in a boring subject) applies most perfectly to Indian cricket in every sense.

Our country of cricket crazy population has finally started understanding or accepting that there is life beyond it and the relationship with other sports can be as beautiful and charming as glamorous and super attractive Cricket.

World Cup football allowed Indian Sports lovers to  take a break from ‘twenty four by seven cricket’. The deviation was as much essential  as every ‘ten to five guy’ seeking an overdue vacation with his loved ones.

The FIFA Cup has (for almost a month ) brought in a lot of fresh air, in the cricket smelling homes. The passionately mad lovers of cricket had  also begun moving away from it and game of cricket was almost on the verge of loosing it’s Most Favoured Sport status in our country due to too much of cricket and may be IPL like ‘no soul only fun’ formats.

Football has rescued cricket at right time with swashbuckling excitement. In fact it has prevented the Indian cricket from committing a suicide due to over exposure and commercialization.

The Wimbledon will also put cricket on sidetrack for few more days. Cricket just needed this  two months privileged leave.

We fans of this great game will be waiting for real cricket (Five Test Match Series in England in trying conditions for batsmen) resuming the duty in August.

I hope every one has enjoyed this cricket vacation thanks to World Cup Football. Football ji please keep coming again and again to save Kingdom of Cricket from drowning.
