Maharashtra team wins its 1st Ever Wheelchair Cricket Premier League ’18


Maharashtra Tigers Wheelchair Cricket Team of Wheelchair Cricket Association Maharashtra won the 1st ever Indian Wheelchair Premier League held from 20th to 24th June 2018 at Dwarka, Delhi. This tournament is organised by Dwarka City Newspaper owner Mukesh Sinha with the support of Disabled Sporting Society India. Around 100 wheelchair cricketers having upto 70-80% of physical disablity across the country had participated in this tournament. All the six teams Gujarat, Uttarkhand, Chennai, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh & Maharashtra fought well to win the 1st ever Indian Wheelchair Premier League.

After winning the first match against Uttar Pradesh by 9 wickets, Maharashtra Tigers Team lost their 2nd match against Delhi by 65 runs. Without getting disheartened by the defeat, they beat Uttarakhand in semi finals by 87 runs to enter in final match of the tournament.

Maharashtra Tigers won the final match one-sided against Gujarat by 10 wickets, they chased the target of 103 runs in just 8th overs at 15 overs game.
