International Cricketers and their Bollywood affairs over the years….

The relation between cricket & bollywood has always been strong and since many decades we have seen numerous cricketers tying the know or having an affair with bollywood actresses. There has to be some reason why this never ending relation between cricketers and heroines have always been in the news since so many decades. Well these cricketers are rich, athletic, good looking and they travel the world while the glamourous heroines just got the best looks, stardom and grace to charm any men in the world. Hence, it has always been noticed that cricketers are attracted to heroines while heroines are equally attracted towards cricketers because a cricketer would definately want a glamorous wife or a girlfriend considering they are rich and smart while heroines who are by far the most beautiful women in the country would surely need someone as their boyfriend who is rich, good looking and famous!  So these affaris and attraction are bound to happen & hence we brought out a list of affairs over the years which took everyone’s notice. Though there were many link-ups and affairs but these were the most notable ones.

1. Nawab of Pataudi and Sharmila Tagore

Former captain of Indian Tiger Pataudi was one of the most stylish batsman and one of the most electrifying fielders of his time and he married to Sharmila Tagore who was at the peak of stardom in her bollywood career.  They met in 195 and tiger was head over heels for her from  the day 1 he saw her. Though they faced a lot of difficulties because sharmila was bengali while Tiger a pure muslim but they had a successful relationship and a marital life & today they have kids in Soha Ali Khan & Saif Ali Khan.

2. Garfield Sobers and Anju Mahendroo

Garfield Sobers was at the peak of his cricketing career when he was introduced to a 17yr old upcoming actress in Anju Mahendroo. Anju who was once believed to be engaged to Rajesh Khanna in 1966-67 broke of her relation to commit with Sobers but eventually due to long distance relation, their relationship never worked out.

3. Salim Durrani and Parveen Babi

Salim Durrani- a dashing pathan born in Kabul was also one of the few cricketers to play a prominent role in a movie called Chaitra in 1973. Parveen Babi was completely smitten by this charming cricketer who is often considered amongst the four most loved cricketers- Sachin, Gundappa Vishwanath & Kapil Dev.

4. Srinivasaraghavan Venkataraghavan and Hema Malini

While they had a brief stint with each other but it did not last long. Also let me tell you Hema Mailini at that time was the most desirable and hottest women in the town and it was quite a catch for Venkatraghavan to even find his name linked with such a beautiful actress.

5. Ravi Shastri and Amrita Singh

Ravi Shastri the tall, handsome and dashing batsman was regarded as the most handsome hunk of Indian Cricket while Amrita was always desirable the moment she made her debut in Bollywood. Their relation lasted for 2-3 years but Amrita eventually settled down with Saif Ali Khan (divorced at present with saif) with whom he has two beautiful kids in Sara & Ibrahim.

6. Imran Khan and Zeenat Aman

Imran Khan was and is still the most desirable and hottest Pakistani cricketer to have ever born till date. It was said that girls would go crazy just to get a glimpse of this hottie in his peak days while Zeenat was the most beautiful and sensual women to have ever forayed in Bollywood. Their relation was short lived while Imran married to Jemina Khan later on.

7. Viv Richards and Neena Gupta

This was the most unconventional relationship back in the 80’s though they divorced soon after their marriage but today they have a successful daughter Masaba Gupta who is an acclaimed designer. The daughter still remains in touch with both the parents while three of them lives solo.

8. Mohhamad Azharuddin and Sangeeta Bijlani

Azhar had a long and serious relationship with Bijlani(who was a top model and also Miss India) and they even had a son who died of a bike accident. Azhar was completely smitten by sangeeta when he was at the peak of his career and they married soon after Azhar proposed to her.

9. Zaheer Khan and Sagarika Ghatge

Zaheer & Sagarika recently married after dating for almost 3 years. Sagarika who won the hearts in movie Chak De India also won the heart of our Indian Pacer who has around 500 International Wickets to his name.

10. Harbhajan Singh and Geeta Basra

It was said by Bhajji himself that he once saw Geeta romancing in a song sequence in a movie called ‘Train’. It was on that day itself he wanted to marry her and eventually impressed her and proposed. Today they are married & have a baby too. Though it took bhajji a lot efforts to convince her but today they are a happy couple.

11. Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma

Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma did an advertise together back there in 2014 and it was probably at that time Virat fell head over heels for her. At this moment, they are the talk of the town.

12. Yuvraj Singh and Hazel Keech

Yuvraj singh once said on TV, that he had set his eyes on hazel and he wanted to marry her the moment she told him a no. in fact Yuvi went on to tell one of his friend to stay away from her ‘ab shaadi karunga to isse hie”.  It took 2years for Yuvi to convince her who was not even talking with Yuvi properly on facebook. It was a typical boy next door crush for Yuvi and won her hearts in style. Today they are happily married.
