Legendary Amol Muzumdar finally gets his due: appointed Rajasthan Royals Batting Coach

Amol Muzumdar has been appointed as batting coach of IPL team Rajasthan Royals for the upcoming season starting next month.

Firstly we will take brief look at his domestic career.
Amol made his first class debut for Mumbai in 1993-1994.Playing pre quarterfinal against Haryana he scored 260 setting a world record for highest first class score on debut.In 171 first class matches Muzumdar has scored a staggering 11167 runs at an avg.of 48.13 with 30 hundreds and 60 half centuries.He holds second position behind Wasim Jaffer in the all time leading run scorers in Ranji Trophy with 9202 runs.
Despite being so consistent in domestic cricket, selectors never picked him for Indian national team.He retired from first class cricket in 2014.He relied on timing rather than power during his playing days.
Now 43 year old will work with former teammate Sairaj Bahutule who is bowling coach of Royals this season.Rajasthan Royals are playing in IPL after a gap of two years due to suspension.Mentor Shane Warne will be hoping the team will do well this season.
