On Saturday Manchester United and Tottenham will face each other at Old Trafford. Currently both the teams are equal on points, but United are ahead in table on goal difference. Tottenham fans will be worried as their prolific goalscorer Harry kane is doubtful for the match. Kane has scored eight goals so far this season, and is looking in a great form. With Manchester city five points clear at the top of the table, Saturday’s game is massive for both United and Tottenham.
Manchester United will be looking to bounce back from their last week defeat. Although they won their midweek EFL cup fixture against Swansea, which will boost their confidence. United will be again without their French wizard Paul Pogba, who is continuing his recovery work. On the other hand Tottenham won comfortably against Liverpool last week, but lost their midweek EFL cup fixture against West Ham.
Talking tactics-
Tottenham will use their usual 3-4-3 formation. Generally, pochettino’s team press opponents quickly, and they like to win the ball high up the pitch. Against Liverpool and Madrid they showed that they can have less possession and still be effective. United manager Jose Mourinho is famously known for nullifying his opponents. After their recent draw against Liverpool, Mourinho is under pressure to improve United’s record against big teams. Defensively arrival of Matic has helped United a lot. It allows other midfielders around him to express themselves. With Lukaku up front , United have got great finisher, but key will to provide him enough service to score goals. Both Pochettino and Mourinho are clever managers and it will be an interesting battle.
