English lions triumph in under 17 world cup final.
The English under 17 national team produced a sensational comeback to overcome the boys from Spain by margin of 5 goals to 2. In what was one of the most amazing matches the U17 has ever seen, team England really showed their metal in tough circumstances to clinch the World Cup title.
The match started with great intensity in front of a full ground at Kolkata, India. Spain seemed to in control at the start of the game and they converted their chances into goals, courtesy Sergio Gomes who scored a spectacular double to put Spain in the driving seat. England did not let this affect them a bit as they continued with their attacking brand of football through which they have entertained all the fans, right from the inception of the tournament. The wolves forward, Morgan Gibbs added to Rhian Brewster’s 8th goal of the tournament to give England a comeback after the initial Spanish double. At 2-2, England looked the more probable side to score and get the lead that could prove vital in clinching the World Cup trophy. Phill Foden proved the above statement true by scoring and helping England take the lead which later proved on to be a very crucial goal. The Spanish team looked to equalise, but England stuck back by scoring two quickfire goals and making the scoreline 5-2 in their favour. Surely this is a great moment for England’s upcoming footballing talent and also a great moment for India, who successfully conducted the U17 Football World Cup. The Spanish team also should receive a few words of consolation for the wonderful performance they put across right till the final.
