India vs Sri Lanka One Day Series
Dambula, India Thrashed Sri Lanka in the first one day international by 9 wickets. Chasing a total of 217 runs, India won in Style keeping 127 balls and 9 wickets in hand.
It was a good start for Sri Lanka but they couldn’t make it count. Sri Lankan opener Niroshan Dickswell scored 64 runs. For India, in form Shikar Dhawan scored yet another ton supported by skipper Virat Kohli. Dhawan scored unbeated 132-runs and Kohli scored unbeaten 82 runs to help his average improve against Sri Lanka. It was another failure for Rohit Sharma in 11 innings where he went back to pavilion after scoring just 4 runs.
Bulgaria Open Table Tennis Tournament
Indian Duo Saumyajit Ghosh and G. Sathiyan played exceedingly well in the finals here but were defeated by Japan’s Top Seeded Duo Jin Uda and Maharu Yoshimura in the finals. The Japan’s top seeded won the nail biting finals 11-13, 11-7, 11-4, 6-11, 11-5. It was a great game over all where Indian duo won a silver medal as runners up in the tournament.
St. Louis Rapid Chess Tournament
India’s Grandmaster and 5 times World Champion Vishwanathan Anand ended the Tournament on last day and had to be satisfied on 9 th Spot out of 10 participants. Anand scored total tally of 14 points in this tournament.
India A vs South Africa A
India A scored 181-3 at end of 2nd day of unofficial test against South Africa A team. Chasing a total of 322 runs set by South Africa, India’s Shreyas Iyer scored 56 runs and Ravikumar Samarth scored 77 runs. India are still 141-runs behind the South Africa’s total.
