Football Special- Keshav Madhav Prathisthan win WIFA youth cup


KMP, Pune beat Mumbai schools Sports Association(MSSA) 2-0 in the finals of the WIFA youth cup at cooperage. Both teams had equal opportunities as well as ball possession but the Pune lads struck twice to win the title.

Ishwar Racheal struck in the first half and later Sufiyan Shaikh scored in the second half.

Ishwar was adjudged as the “Player of the tournament” for his consistent performance.

Earlier KMP had beaten Nashik Football Coaching Centre 2-0 and MSSA had beaten Goans Sports Association 3-1 in the semis.

16 clubs from Mumbai, Kolhapur, Nagpur, Pune, Nasik and Solapur participated in the 1st WIFA State Youth Championship, which was organized as part of the FIFA-AIFF State Development Project. The matches were played at the Cooperage ground from April 21 to May 1, 2017.
