Vile Parle Premier League is Mumbai’s biggest franchisee based youth football league. The motto of the league is – Football for the youth by the youth. It acts a talent scouting platform for several clubs including Mumbai FC, Mumbai’s only I League club. The league is in its 7th season this year and there is already lot of excitement amongst people and is expected to surpass the crowd turnout of 6th season which was around 12000. The league will start on 13th of May and end on 28th of May. All the matches will be played at Waman Dubhashi Ground, Vile Parle East.
So far, the league has enjoyed the support of high profile sponsors such as Indian Oil, Mumbai FC, Gatorade, Idea, among others. The event has been covered by local and regional media such as Maharashtra Times, Dna and Samna. Vile Parle Premier League’s official Facebook page has a reach of 10k+ fans till date and the numbers are rising daily. The league is also involved in several other football events. It has its own football academy called Sporko football school, which is at Urban Sports Turf, Vile Parle East. Vile Parle Premier League is also involved in grassroots events, open age tournaments, football camps and is the owner of 2 Mumbai District Football Association clubs.
Season 7 – A total of 1117 players have registered and there are 77 teams in all playing in 5 different categories: U-14 League, U-16 League, Girls League, Championship (2nd division) and Premier League (1st division). At present, New India Assurance and Saraswat Bank have been confirmed as official sponsors and the league is working on having a few more sponsors on board.
