Air India recover to hold State Police 1-1


Former champions Air India scored a second half equaliser to hold Maharashtra State Police to a 1-1 draw in a keenly-contested Elite Division match of the Mumbai District Football Association League 2016-2017, and played at the Andheri Sports Complex. The State cops took the lead through Himket Dhembre in the 25th minute, but Air India came back strongly in the second period and managed to find the equaliser through Pratik Koli in the 69th minute.

Meanwhile, the two Super Division encounters played at the Goans Sports Association ground finished in goalless draws. In the first match the young outfits, Air India Under-19 and Mumbai FC Under-19 played out a goalless draw and later Sellebrity FC despite dominating play throughout but lacked finishing and had to settle for a goalless draw with State Bank of India.
